Proposal details

The introduction of several MASH-compliant roadside safety systems and the updating of Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSDs) to new MTO Drawings (MTODs) to enhance safety performance and ensure consistency with current standards.
Key elements include the implementation of new barrier systems such as Ram Shield, EZY GUARD Steel Beam Guardrail (SBGR), and Steel Beam Guardrail Type M for base-plated and embedded foundation applications. Existing OPSDs are updated through the replacement of legacy delineator and sign support systems with MASH-compliant alternatives, including post-mounted delineators and SQR-LOC steel square post systems. Additional MTODs are provided to standardize transitions between concrete barriers and parapets.
A pedestrian handrail support system is also included to enhance safety for vulnerable road users
