We want to update CAIS 102 – Administration and Inspection Activities for Weighting of Materials. The changes in the CAIS are required to align with the proposed updates to OPSS.PROV 102 – Weighing of Materials.

We want to update OPSS.PROV 102- Weighing of Materials. The changes in the OPSS are required due to the Weights and Measures Act, as amended requiring changes to OPSS.PROV 102 – Weighing of Materials to align with the Act, as amended.

Three new Specifications OPSS 960, OPSS 1805 and OPSS 1863 are being posted for review and comments.

NSP DB 1350 Material Specification for Concrete – Materials and Production has been updated for
consistency with newly published OPSS.PROV 1350 (April 2025), to update payment adjustment $ values to reflect inflation and to add taking of RCP referee cores at the time acceptance cores are taken. As part of the specification publication process, Engineering Materials Office (EMO) Concrete Section is posting the draft specification for external stakeholders’ consultation prior to publication.

This Special Provision (SP) amending OPSS 905 has been developed to assist the industry in implementing welding practices that comply with MTO requirements.

The proposal will include traffic control in the price for each item which ensures fair compensation for traffic control on items whose quantities have increased, without requiring burdensome administration like keeping DWRs.

The proposed changes clarify the intent, making requirements clear to bidders:

A minor change was made to the definition of Temporary Traffic Control Signs to avoid confusion over the word “supply.”
o
The title of the Item will be changed to Temporary Traffic Control Staging.
o
The work under the Item was specified to include only traffic control that persists longer than 24-hours, leaving shorter term traffic control to be paid under the associated Items.
