Structural Manual v60

The Structural Manual Draft of revision 60 has been reorganized to group similar concepts together. Each Section has minor clarifications & corrections. There are few major updates to Division 2 have also been incorporated such as renaming of Section 3 as “Deep Foundations” and Renaming of Section 4 as “Shallow Foundations” Section 5 now includes Approach Slab & Slope paving section from Section 16. Description of Wingwall Design has been updated for revised wingwall Design Aid DA 5-1 to DA 5-6. ACR Steel details and use of 1” bolt for span >50m bridges have been added to Section 8. Inspector Guard details has been added to Section 10 & Noise Barrier description now moved to Section 10 from Section 16. Section 12 has been updated for 500W MPa steel grade. Description of dowels has been moved to Section 12 from Section 16. Entire Section 15 has been revised include up to date information on sawn timber, prefabricated mass timber and treatment with preservatives. From Section 16 some information as mentioned above have been moved to more appropriate Sections of the Manual. Also, most of the pedestrian bridge requirements are removed and referred to CSA S7. In Division 3 Wingwall Design Aid DA 5- 1 through 5-6 has been updated for 500W Garde steel. A new Design Aid DA 10-1 and DA 10-2 have been added to list Dead Loads of permanent and temporary barriers. Rebar bends in Design Aid DA 12-1 has been updated for Garde 500W steel. Division 4 has been removed & updates to Structural Standard Drawings are now contained in a separate document “SSD Revision Sheet All-Rev” & all SSD prints are compiled in “SSD Complete Manual”. Both documents are available on MTO’s Technical Publication website.
