Proposal details
This is the third edition of MTO Design Supplement (DS) to the Transportation Association’s (TAC) Geometric Design Guide (GDG) for Canadian Roads. The first and second editions of the MTO Design Supplement were implemented in December 2017 and April 2020 respectively. The Design Supplement will consist of 15 appendices; one for each of the eleven (11) chapters of the TAC GDG, while 4 additional appendices are included for each of Managed Lanes, Work Zones (not included – to be posted separately), Glossary and MTO Geometric Design Standards Summary Tables.
Once finalized, the 2023 version of the MTO Design Supplement will replace the current April 2020 version. The changes in the proposed edition are based on engineering research and sound engineering judgement.
