Proposal details
Guidance related to aspects specific to railways is provided to design and construction staff. Topics include flagging, access to railway right-of way, design consideration and review of design by affected railway companies, purchase orders and legal agreements. Processes for contract documentation, roles and responsibilities during construction as well as routine structural inspections are also identified. Specific direction is provided where applicable for Canada’s two Class I railways, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific with respect to design review and requirements for legal agreement. The guidelines provide directions to establish similar requirements early in the design process with other railway companies. |
