Prior to TCP posting this standard has been discussed with ORBA and comments received through Technical Consultation portal were also carefully reviewed and evaluated. The drawing has been updated to incorporate a comment from ORBA and considered ready for publishing.

Decision details

The Standard drawing SS107-9 shows minimum bracing requirements to support NU Girders during construction. Prior to posting on MTO’s Technical Consultation portal, updates to the drawing were made after consultation with ORBA during past two years. MTO has carefully reviewed have evaluated the comments received through TCP and have considered to fine tune the Standard drawing.

Effects of consultation

As a result of consultation, the drawing has been updated to show location of intermediate bracing from the CL of bearings at 5m distance measured parallel to girder line for bridges with skew 20 degrees or less.

Upon industry’s request regarding installation of intermediate bracing; Construction Note 3 on the drawing has been modified.
