Decision summary

The Steel Beam Guide Rail Specification SSP 721S09 will continue the Contract Preparation System (CPS) implementation process.
A comment was received for SSP 741S03 that will result in having to edit the Temporary Construction Barrier specification. Once edited, SSP 741S03 will continue the CPS implementation process.

Decision details

On SSP 741S03, table 5 needs to list both the restrainable and non-restrainable versions of the Type Z barrier. A new table will be needed for narrow systems, restrained, category IV.

SSP 721S09 also includes small quality control edits throughout, including defining mounting height tolerances for ACP TL‐4 and Guardian 5, clarifying that anchors for the Type M20 base plated system should be epoxied, and measurement is along the face of rail.


SSP 741S03 also modifies tables 2 to 4 to separate restrainable temporary concrete barrier systems from nonrestrainable systems. Add table 6 to provide convention to be used in contract documents. Other small edits throughout.
