Proposal details
MTO Prestressed Concrete Girder Design Guidelines are created as supplementary information to Design requirements of CHBDC, MTO Structural Manual and Exceptions to CHBDC contained in MTO’s Structural Manual- Division and other related documents. The guidelines are meant to encourage consistency in selection and design of precast concrete girders, improve their constructability and quality.
Existing Prestressed Concrete Box & NU Girders drawings have been updated to incorporate some industry’s feedback and field practices. The drawing details for Box Girders B700, B800 & B900 have been compiled on SS107-13 while SS107-11& SS017-12 are being archived. B1000 is shown on SS107-14 & SS107-15 provides details applicable to all sizes of the Box girders. The NU Girder details are contained in SS107-16 to SS107-24. Two new drawings SS107-25 and SS107-26 are being introduced to present Prestressed Concrete Solid Slab design details.
