1. MTOD 911.575 indicates in Note 2 that it can be used on bridge decks (which are typically comprised of 90 mm of asphalt and waterproofing over 250 mm of concrete deck for a total of 350 mm), but in the table indicates that the minimum embedment for "Asphalt over reinforced concrete subbase" (which would apply to bridge decks) must be 400 mm. Please clarify.
2. The table in MTOD 911.575 shows a row for asphalt (must be 150 mm thick min.) and a row for asphalt over compacted granular (must be 50 mm thick min.); over what substrate would the asphalt in the first row be placed? Some earthen material which is not granular or granular which is not compacted? When would that occur?
