Summary of updates to OPSS 182, SSP 101F23 and CAIS 182    

OPSS 182:

  • Updated references to include updated MTO Fisheries Guidance Documents and O. Reg 242/08 of the Endangered Species Act
  • Added definitions to reflect changes in the OPSS
  • Revised and additional language to provide clearer instruction to the Contractor regarding operation/refuelling of machinery, site restoration, specialist monitoring requirements, and updates to current legislative/permit language.
  • Minor revisions to the electrofishing requirements to reflect changes to MNR policy and cessation of issuing Ontario Electrofishing Certification
  • Addition to a new section/requirement for a Secondary Fuel Containment 
  • for Stationary equipment (e.g. drip tray) to reduce likelihood of fuel spills near water
  • SSP 101F23

  • Revised column headings for documenting locations where in-water work timing windows applies to the entire watercourse, not just at the highway crossing/structure footprint itself
  • Updated designer notes as appropriate
  • CAIS 182

    Updated inspection and administration activities based on usage feedback/experience and to reflect revisions to the OPSS and the SSP
