This is an update to the MTO’s OSIM Field Inspection Guide (OFIG), following the related update of the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual, earlier this year.
Proposal details
The OSIM Field Inspection Guide (OFIG) was last updated in 2018 and this update follows the 2026 update of the full Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM). This 2026 OSIM update focussed on modernizing the document, improving clarity and consistency, rationalizing the document to remove outdated sections and improved the overall useabillity of the document. This update of the OSIM Field Inspection Guide matches the changes made to the full OSIM and also rationalizes its contents to those topics most pertinent to use in the field, during structure inspections.
We are seeking comments from users of the OSIM for this update of the OFIG.
