Decision summary
Following industry consultations, the draft specifications of OPSS 960, OPSS 1805 and OPSS 1863 have been updated to address feedback. The specifications will be published on the MTO’s Technical Publication website and implemented in CPS.
Decision details
The MTO has addressed feedback received through the TCP consultation by making fine improvements in various sections. All three specifications have been finalized for publication on the MTO’s Technical Publication site and for implementation in CPS.
Effects of consultation
In OPSs 960 & OPSS 1805 few clarifications were made by updating the descriptions such as assembly and installation, storage requirements, clarification regarding tolerances , blot torquing requirements are few important updates.

Original proposal
Proposal details
With input from industry stakeholders, MTO’s Structures Office has developed updated construction and material specifications for Buried Corrugated Steel Structures & their supplementary documents. The new specifications include:
OPSS 960 – Construction Specification for Buried Corrugated Steel Structures
OPSS 1805 – Material Specification for Corrugated Steel Structural Plate
In addition, a supplementary specification, OPSS 1863 – Geomembrane, has been developed. The use of a geomembrane over buried structures is recommended to enhance durability and overall performance.
