This Special Provision (SP) amending OPSS 905 has been developed to assist the industry in implementing welding practices that comply with MTO requirements.

Proposal details

This Special Provision (SP) amending OPSS 905 specifies the requirements for welding carbon steel reinforcement. The SP prohibits the use of tack welding and specifies the requirements of carbon steel rebar welding when the welding is approved by the Ministry. A clear definition of resistance welding and the submission requirements of resistance welding are also outlined. Overall, the SP reflects the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing quality and efficiency in MTO’s contracts.
